Thank you for the nice Valentine's day!

So, as i promised before...here's some photos of us at Valentine's night yesterday. Enjoy! :)

here's what we were eating last night...it was beautifully taken, wasn't it? :)

Anyway, right after dinner, we decide to watch the midnight cinema at Surabaya Town Square. And guess what?we can't even enter the parking lot! it looks like everybody spend their valentine's night here. Great. So where to go next?

our friend, Anvin suggest and offer several choices, like:
1. spend the rest of the night at Karaoke booth
arrived at 10PM. At first, Pink thought "what kind of people spend their valentine's night at karaoke?"...but we were wrong, when we arrived, even we have to queue until 11PM! so here's my answer for your thought Pink : "the people who don't know where to go, because everywhere elses is already full-booked" :p hihihi. forget the karaoke...let's move on.
2. Drago Brasserie
it's a cafe, located at the main street, but unfortunately, the parking lot is soooo poor. that's why i'm too lazy to go there -_-;
3. Church
yeah, you're not wrong or misread it...CHURCH! at almost 11PM. Great idea, Vin.
3. Starbucks
this is where we were spent the rest of valentine's night together.

this is another beautiful photo
shoot. it's Pink again :) thank you for your time and this nice photos! seriously!

Anyway, thank you to all of you guys (Anvin, Adi, Chong, Yudi, Hany, Big), who are willing to spend your time with us :) we were surely had a great Valentine's party! let's hang out together again some other time :)

this Valentine morning...

So, how are you, readers? it's Valentine today, for those who celebrate it, we wish you have a very nice Valentine's day with your loved one. Also, for those who are single, don't worry, you have your friends and family with you, because Valentine is not about sharing love just to your loved one, but with everybody, your friends, family, etc. (why suddenly i sounds so wise?). Besides, "Everyday is Valentine", right?

Anyway, my Valentine's morning (okay, afternoon actually) activities started with checking my mail, my FB, my cellphone, and drop by here :p, no special things. And i have to attend a "small-gathering" party this evening. Maybe, there will be 8 persons, 2 of them are girls, the rests are boys. One funny thing while i invite this boys, they keep asking the same question "who are the girls?", "any girls?", "why don't you invite any girls?", "why are boys more dominant?", "do you have any girl friend?, i prefer the single one", "are we having a gay party?" (okay, so far this is the weirdest question). Don't you worry guys, we're gonna have a great time hanging out tonight!. Just like what Mika said :
"...Everybody's gonna love today,
Gonna love today, gonna love today.
Everybody's gonna love today, gonna love today,
Anyway you want to, anyway you've got to,
Love love me, love love me, love love..."

By the way, while i was writing this post, i also browsing to somewhere else (now you know why i always take a long time to publish posts), i found this interesting thing :

the tagline is : there is something wrong, it is not a film about livestocks
Kambingjantan the movie : This the movie i want to watch next month. A weird title actually, KambingJantan is Male Goat(?) in English, this film is about life's story of a male named Raditya Dika (if you happen to understand Indonesia language, feel free to see his blog), and his "extraordinary-and-stupid-life-experiences". Why i want to watch this? because i've read his 4 previous books before, and believe me he is truly a funny guy and a talented young Indonesian writer! So i'm so curious about his life's story (errr...his stupid acts actually :p). Can't say much, just wait for the film and the review.

Okay, i think that's enough for now. Gonna make a cup of iced tea, grab some cookies, and watch the next episodes of Southpark :p. After that, i'm gonna attend tonight's event. just wait for the exclusive photo :)

A while ago, i received a note at Facebook with my name tagged along with it, and i've seen many friends of mine at Facebook writing this "chain-letter" note about themselves, under a title "25 Random Things". Why i called this a chain-letter? let's see the rule :
At first, i thought it was same as usual note and other "chain-letter" thing. And yeah, i'm not so into this kind of things actually. What kind of facts you can write?the answer : ANYTHING! you can tell everybody about your dreams, habits, goals, even you can tell the facts about yourself that even your friends aren't realized. (i've read the note of someone who shared his favourite sex position...and it's so damn funny!).

For someone who thought it was a spam, you need to re-think, cause this "25 random things" has became a phenomena. This note even made it to New York Times' article! you can read the article here.
I think this note became popular because it makes people think about FUN facts of themselves, and they want to know their friends better by letting them write the note too. And just wait for the chain reaction, the other peoples who enjoy the fun facts will write another note about themselves, and tagged a few peoples along...and so on...and so on.

As for myself, i've tried to make this note too, but i don't know why, at that time suddenly i felt blank and i didn't know what to wrote, it's harder than it looks. But i'll try and see if i can publish my "25 random things about me" here, of course after i published it on my Facebook.
Meanwhile, care to share with me your "25 random things" ? :)

Just a quick update.

I was about to clean my room, prepared the mop and broom. I'm going to sweep the gap between the shelf and the wall...First broom's swing, and it hit the shelf...
And I, cleaning up the mess, and keep saying to myself, "Great job, Novi, you're supposed to clean your room, not destroying things"

Okay, guess i have to find another shelf tonight.

No...don't be provoked by the title, there
wasn't any "Kenny" being hurt while i wrote this post. believe me.

So, i just woke up at 11AM this afternoon...no big deal, since i've fi
nished most of my projects, that means i have a lot of free time, oh the joy of being freelancer (i'll tell you later about the joy of it, later in the next posts maybe :p). Actually, i slept a lot earlier last night, around 10 or 11PM, but unfortunately i had a stomachache (what a "very-not-important-to-read-this" thing) around 3AM in the morning, Unfortunately (again), i can't get back to sleep! nice! my sleepy-state is also flushed away.

So here's what i did, watch DVD and let's hope the move is boring enough to regain my sleepyness (is it the right term? :p). But, i'm totally wrong, since i pick the "wrong-but-it-turned-to-be-so-interesting" movie, South Park! I love this series, and i can't remember since when I watched this "sick" series :p. The show revolves around the adventures of four boys - and their friends living in the fictional small town of South Park. The longer explanation, you can read it here, as i'm too lazy to explain it. I'm just gonna tell about one of my fav character, Kenny McCormick, and the interesting thing about his "short-life"

I can't understand almost all of what he said everytime he speaks except some grumbles :p. The funny thing is, this character Kenny, happened to be killed in every episodes. I don't know what or why he is dead. But for myself, waiting for his dying times is interesting. You can see the diagram at the left to see how many different ways this Kenny died. Everytime he died, their friends will say "OMG they killed Kenny" and left...(yeah guys, you're truly great friends). just click the diagram for more detailed information about how he died :p

Anyway, earlier today i was chatting with my friend, a male, and have an appearance just like Surya Saputra, one of the Indonesian actor (just click the photo if you want to know him better :p), and it happened to be a stupid conversation...:D
N.B : for the other readers who couldn't understand this conversation...i'm sorry, but it's an inside joke -_-! i've tried to translate it, but there are many terms i can't find the meaning in english...once again, sorry :)

Fate is a chance, Destiny is a choice

Valentine day is running near. Some people might be so excited counting days, yet some other might be pondering their relationship. I don't know what you are into..but i did read this great article that might be give you a light bulb in your relationship :)
When we meet right person to love, at a right place and at a right time,
that's a chance.

When u meet someone u are attracted to,
that's not a choice, that's a chance.

Difference is what happens afterwards.
When u take that infatuation, that blowing attraction to next level.
When you decide to make this into a concrete relationship or just a fling.

If u decides to love a person, even with his faults,

that's not a chance, that's a choice.

When u choose to be with a person, no matter what,
that's a choice

.
Even if u know there are many people out there
who are more attractive, smarter, and richer than ur mate,

and yet, you decide to love your mate just the same . .
that's a choice.

Infatuation . .
 crush . .
 attraction . .

comes to us by chance.

But,
TRUELOVE that lasts ….is truly a choice.

A choice that we make.

Regarding soul mates,
there's a beautiful movie quote that I believe is so true about this:
"Fate brings u together, but it's still up to u to make it happen."
I do believe that soul mates do exist. That there is truly someone made for you.
But it's still up to u to make choice if you are going to do something about it or not.

We may meet our soul mates by CHANCE,
but
loving and staying with our soul mates is still A CHOICE we have 2 make.

We came to world not by finding someone perfect to love
BUT to learn how to love an imperfect someone.. PERFECTLY

It's a very great chance for me to meet Pink and Yellow.
I love how my choice creates a destiny which puts us together in this blog. ^^~

ps. that scrapbook photo is just a drag and drop photo with free design from smilebox link which pink puts under this post! do you like it? i do..hihi

Lion Dance's Show

This time, i’ll share about Lion Dance to our fellow readers who don’t know about this traditions. It became a tradition to welcome Chinese New Year with this kind of performances. Actually, it is an traditional folk art origin from China, and it supposed to add some fun to the festivities. For some people, it is interesting to see this performances, but some people believe that if well performed, the lion dance is believed to
bring luck and happiness. Ancient people regarded lion as the symbol of braveness and strength, and thought it could drive away the evil and protect the human and livestock. Therefore, performing lion dance became a custom where people can pray for good luck and safety. The lion dance was performed in a group of two to five lions of different colors. Each lion was performed by two men dressed in costumes, with one person wielding the lion head while standing, and the other wielding the lion body and tail while stooping down. These people were called “lion-men” and they danced in tempo to the musical pieces like drum, cymbals, and gong.

During the more than 1,000 years of development, lion dance has developed into two major genres: Northern Lion Dance and Southern Lion Dance. The lion in the Northern Lion Dance looks more friendly, and looks just like the lion that we know. The movement of the dance mainly focuses on the performance of martial lion dance, guided by the lion dancers, the lion writhes, falls forward, jumps and makes a bow, as well as some other highly difficult movements such as walking on wooden or bamboo stakes, jumping over a table, etc.

On the other hand, the Southern Lion is depicted as an animal with a lion’s head. It has two horns and the skin is scaled. One of the legends has it that in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), Emperor Qianlong dreamed about the pilgrim of an auspicious animal in colorful hair on his inspection tour south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. After his return to Beijing, the capital, the emperor ordered his men to make one according to the image of the auspicious animal he dreamed about. The Southern Lion Dance mainly focuses on the performance of civilized lion dance. The performance attaches much attention to the movements like scratching an itch, shaking the hair, licking the hair and so on.

Nowadays, the Lion Dance mostly performed to bring luck and to ward off evil spirits, as with the beginning of the Lunar New Year and grand opening of businesses, and now – minus the firecrackers – at weddings.

I’ve taken a short video to show you how Lion Dance performed.
Live from my house’s front yard! Enjoy!

"I'm back"

blue: Readers, Yellow was back to his hometown since Jan 23. He's back now..hihi.. can't wait to hear his stories there! ;) Here he is........

Okay readers, first, let me greet you "Happy Chinese New Year"...a lil bit late, but it's better than never, right? here i go again...i was supposed to post my story yesterday, but there are several things that made (or should i say : forced) me to post it today.

Yesterday, i was enthusiatically writing my story, i wanted to share my "1 week story" to all of you. i've wrote 600++ words, if i'm not wrong, and then, suddenly i had a blackout (errr...not me, i'm fine if you're worried about me...it's my house electricity). After my house electricity went back normal, that's when the second trial came. My internet connection snapped off, because i forgot to pay the bill! NICE, my day could've gone any better than this...what's next? my TV explode?

So, 1 week ago, i was back to my hometown to spend holidays with my family, it's chinese new year and it's our tradition to do a family gathering. There are actually several other reasons for me why should i come back to my hometown:
1. it's chinese new year :p
2. my driving licenses is expired. i don't have an ID here at Surabaya, so i have to settle it at my hometown. yeah, wasting time and money...
3. i have to settle down my "moving letter". Moving letter?? what kind of letter is that?? no, no, not that kind of letter that moving around and i have to catch it...actually, i don't know what the exact term of this "moving letter"...here's the explanation: i came from outside of Surabaya, different island, different province. i don't have an available ID here, so that's mean i have to get one. in order to have it, i have to announce my moving to Surabaya from my current hometown. The government will issue a letter, telling that i'm no longer work and live at my hometown, and move to Surabaya, so i could have an ID at this city, understand? oh, one more thing...by "telling that i'm no longer worked and lived at my hometown", it doesn't mean that i'm being exiled!

On to the next part
my flight was scheduled to depart at 7.10AM, so that means i had to be at airport on 6AM in the morning! i hope my flight wasn't delayed so i didn't waste my hard effort for waking up early.
7.00 AM - the announcer announce that we could board the plane (hooray!)
7.10 AM - sit sweetly on the plane, waiting time to take off
7.15 AM - my seat was changed, it's okay tho since my new seat is much more bigger and comfortable...waiting time again...
7.30 AM - "ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. we're sorry, we have some technical problem with our navigation system, please wait 15 minutes while we're trying to fix this problem, we're sorry for the inconvenience"...NICE captain!!
7.45 AM - "ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. we're sorry, apparently we have to switch plane. please go back to waiting room while we wait for other plane"...thank you captain, i love you... and guess what? the next plane was came at 9.30AM...

Next, what i've done in my hometown?
Not much actually, in short, i'll list it as :
1. Eat, eat, eat
so many delicious foods, so little time...oh and i didn't eat at restaurants all the time. if i have to dine-out, most of my time i spent at food stall just beside the main street, so old-school, traditional foods and snacks, benches that made from wood, and tent :) but believe me, it's ultra-delicious!
2. Family trip
oh what else can we do? i love to travel outside the city...and this time, the destination was : Martapura! (if you don't know what or where is Martapura, this city is famous for it's jewellery and precious stones handicraft...and also, diamond panning)
3. Reunion
i'll upload the photo later, as i don't have it yet. Actually, it's just for my classmates :p i have around 35 attendants, they're all my old friends from elementary school...the funny thing is, "why i can only recognize 5 of them?! am i sure this is my classmates??". for all my old-friends, i'm sorry i didn't recognize all of you...i'll find our old photograph to compare it with your latest looks...oh, the most surprisingly, 4 of them are already married, and 1 of them is having a babygirl...congrats!
4. Visiting a mall
hooray! we have a mall in Banjarmasin! not that often, as far as i could remember, i only gone there twice...not much to see, and i'm too lazy to find a parking lot!
5. Measuring the length of street
yeah, since i came home...i've became a "private-family-driver-that-should-go-anywhere-anytime-my-mom-and-dad-asked-me-to". but it's fun actually, because whenever my mom and dad asked me to take them somewhere, i believe there will be food following me.. :p
6. Playing Wii
this is the most annoying thing...because i always lose when competing with my little brother and sister! and by always lose, i mean EVERYTHING! ALL KIND OF GAMES! and while playing baseball, we have to swing the controller just like playing the real thing...that's when my waist sprained... -_-;

there are lot to be told, but i guess, most of them aren't important to tell :) oh and by the way, i've had a slice of apple pie for breakfast :) from my besties, the very same person that made a cupcake from the story below :p it's nice and delicious! trust me! it's a pity i forget to take a pic

anyway, glad to be back again :)
