Life, According To Bill Gates
Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.
"Rule 1: Life is not FAIR - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it Opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So, before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life, people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to NERDS. Chances are, you'll end up working for one!"

Weird woman(?)
this is so weird yet the most creative ambience media i've seen so far at TP

Just a quick share for all of you, last Saturday, i went to TP, and i was distracted by a woman figure sticking her head to the wall.
First, i thought she was a real person, but then i realized that she didn't moving at all. Just then I took a pic, and examine "it" thoroughly (by examine, i mean just by looking at it, not by groping it). It was an ambience media for Miracle Aesthetic Clinic...there is also a message beside the statue, if i remembered it correctly, it says "are you ready to face the world?" (IF i remembered it correctly).
I don't know if it really an effective way to deliver the message, but one thing for sure, this is the most creative ad i've seen so far in TP. And surely this is getting attentions from many peoples.

Found it today #5

Okay, now it's time for your daily inspiration (how dare for me to call it daily, while i'm not posting daily :p).
Today I ran across few interesting things, it's not much actually, since i'm not in the mood of "wandering" (blame Mike Sego, blame Fluff apps for making an Egg Hunt 2009 event, i was stuck at Facebook just to find Easter Egg).
After this "Found it Today #5", i think i'm gonna take a break from sharing something...i'm bored actually, so you can expect less serious topic in the future (hey hey, don't be dissapointed...it's not that i'm gonna stop sharing something, i'm just bored, and i want to make all of you laugh or at least smiling by reading my stories :p). So just wait for the next post...gotta think what should i write next :p my daily life maybe?
or, do you have an idea?

Ah, let's skip the chit chat part, let's get it on!

1. Tebe Interesno's Work of Photo Manipulation

Tebe Interesno is the screen name the designer used in his blog. It means "You Are Interested" in Russian, but his real name is Dmitry Maximov, a Russian designer (hey, i sound so smart...call me Mr. Google Everything). I love his work, combining illustration with photography. It seems so real, magical, and somehow cute. It probably what kids imagination when they see the world.
You can see more of his work at his livejournal :)

2. Fruit Juice Packaging by Naoto Fukusawa

Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa has created a series of creative fruit juice packages that have the look and feel of the fruit they contain. He thought that if the surface of the package imitated the colour and texture of the fruit skin, then the object would reproduce the feeling of the real skin. Hmm...i wonder when he'll be made a packaging for Durian Juice?or maybe Rambutan?hihihi...HAIRY!
As far as i could find, i only met 3 design, Kiwi, Banana, and Strawberry...there is one more design called "Tofu" for a carton of soya milk. If you want to know the design, just imagine a white, box-shaped, yeah...just like a tofu...simple.

3. What you should (not) do when on emergency : Fire
Okay, let's keep repeating this to yourself :
"i will not do thing like above pics when there is fire emergency"

Ah, i think that's all for today :) hope you enjoy that!

So, we meet again on "Found it today" :)
and now, it's bookmark edition, i've gathered some of what i called modern-unique-and-creative bookmarks. And remember, it's just based from what i've found so far...maybe you have your own designed bookmark that can be called creative?you can send me the pic :)

anyway, let's see them one by one :D

1. [LITE]READ - LED bookmark
[LITE]READ functions as a bookmark and portable reading light. This is handy device that can be used for reading in a dark environment without disturbing others. I don't know if it can be called a bookmark rather than flashlight...hihi

2. Animal Bookmarks
This bookmarks are made from (real) pig suede and bull leather. The tails of the animals look quite cute when hanging from your book...available with monkey, girrafe, mice, dog, and other animals design

3. Flower Petal Bookmarks
Okay, this one isn't a pure bookmark actually, more like post-it. Each transparent flower petal has an adhesive back, so if you mark several places in your book, it looks like if a flower grow out of your book... a nice way to put some "freshness" to your boring book :p

4. Book and Spectacles Bookmark
These bookmarks are using the book itself and the spectacles as their design. It's actually thin leather straps with little charms on the end. mmm...Maybe you can use this for keychain or even mobile phone strap?

5. Story of a Bookmark
This is quite fun actually, it looks like that a bird or a mermaid were came outside from the story inside. What an imagination... :)

6. The Abracadabra puffy bookmark
The Abracadabra bookmark contains an air filled chamber, half of it is flattened by the weight of the book. Squeezing the other side inflates the concealed side and lifts the page just enough for your finger to slip in. Very useful :)

7. The Favbook Bookmark
The idea is to combine the convenience of fresnel lense with luxury silver bookmark. The lens is made from high quality durable plastic, frame of silver.

8. Bleeding Bookmark
haha...it's just like your book is bleeding...hmmm maybe perfect for horror or thriller book.

so, which one is your favourite, hm?
